Ongoing Collaborations
  • In2improv ~ improvise.play.live is a ongoing collaboration with dancer Sandra Paola López in which interdisciplinary improvisation is used as a developmental tool with which individuals can learn about themselves through performances, classes and workshops (in2improv.com). In2improv has given workshops and performances in New York City, Paris, France and proximally in Juarez, Mexico and Bogotá, Colombia.
  • Young IDEA Project 2013 is an international laboratory that brings together dance, music and theater educators between the ages of 21 and 34 to work collaboratively to explore and question the current implications of art education throughout the world.
  • CompostQ is an interdisciplinary dance and music improvisation ensemble with highly accomplished performers Kirstie Simson, Erik Lund and Dorothy Martirano. CompostQ has given performances and workshops at Roosevelt University, Eastern Illinois University, University of Louisville, throughout the Champaign-Urbana area and proximally in New York City.
  • Almost “A” Quintet is an eclectic ensemble that performs jazz, gypsy and tango music. Almost “A” is comprised of highly accomplished violinist Dorothy Martirano, University of Illinois faculty Ricardo Flores and Armand Beaudoin and Western Illinois University faculty George Turner. 
  • Don’t Ask performs a blend of tradition and progressive klezmer - jewish folk and Eastern-European music.


Workshops and Presentations

  • Composed, performed and co-led workshop with Colombian dancers Jenny Angelica Angulo and Sandra Paola López at the Young IDEA Project 2013 (Paris, France). This project was part of the 8th Congress of the International Drama/Theatre Education Association (July, 2013)
  • Co-led a workshop in2 Community Building! ~ An Interdisciplinary Arts Workshop with dancer and educator Sandra Paola López at the international Performing the World congress, New York City (October, 2012)
  • Public school workshops, (Illinois, 2012-2013)
  • CompostQ (interdisciplinary improvisation ensemble) gave interactive workshops and performances throughout the Champaign-Urbana area.  
  • Don’t Ask (klezmer and eastern European music) gave educational performances at public schools throughout the Champaign-Urbana area.
  • University workshops and performances (Illinois and Kentucky, 2012-2013) CompostQ gave workshops and performances at Roosevelt University, Eastern Illinois University and University of Louisville
